The Telemaster Senior Radio Control Aircraft

Above: The Telemaster Senior RCA is primarily a Radio Control training aircraft that is fitted with a Canon G10 mid-size digital camera.

Please note that this aircraft is not fitted with an autopilot, as the larger VuFab and InView are.

The Telemaster Senior Radio Control Aircraft

The Telemaster is a 92” wingspan aircraft built out of balsa with lightweight covering which is very stable in any condition due to its dihedral wing. Several changes have been made to the standard configuration:

  • servo pushrods moved to allow the Canon G10 camera to be used for aerial photography
  • a Canon G10 digital camera has been added
  • a large capacity fuel tank is used to provide about one hour and 45 minutes of flight time
  • more secure wing fixing assembly
  • section added to the front above the servo tray for lower air resisistance
  • the aircraft is spray painted matt grey

This aircraft has been fitted with a 20cc four stroke petrol engine for endurance and efficient low cost running and exhaust has been fitted high above wing so as not to soil the camera lens.

The wings have been programmed to couple as flaps allowing a very slow airspeed for landing and surveillance due to the dihedral in the wings this aircraft can be flown in any weather conditions.

Above: a view of the SAITO FG-20 four stroke gasoline (petrol) engine with plenty of power for this aircraft.

Above: the assembled aircraft, ready to fly.

The Telemaster Senior exhibits very stable flight, even in windy conditions, due to the power of the engine. Lift off and flight is typically at a quarter throttle, with plenty of power in reserve to carry heavier payloads i.e. more fuel tanks and or heavier surveillance equipment.
